I
do believe that you’re such a great leader, a leader who can’t only hope for a
change but can actually do anything to make it happen, and I am very much aware
of your love and sincerity to protect the country and its people. Despite that,
I hope you find time to read this letter of my concerns and appreciation about
your administration.
Even before you were proclaimed as the president, I am already amazed by your passion to get rid of crime, corruption and illegal drugs. And we’re lucky indeed to have you seeing your achievements as you run the country, such as the Build! Build! Build! Infrastructure Plan, Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, TRAIN Law, Bangsamoro Organic Law, and many more.
However, why did you have to resort to drastic actions which affected your
people too much? Were you aware about the sufferings we all had to go through
because of what you believe is right? Or isn’t it better to work with
recognition of our human rights and freedom?
With
the occurrence of this pandemic, we noticed negligence on your part. When cases
started to bloom in China, you seem to do nothing but just let the virus enter
our country. Does cancelling flights from that country didn’t ever cross on
your mind in order to protect your people? Just after a few cases, as you can
observe, our lives became at risk. Businesses have closed their doors, many
people became jobless, the poverty rate had increased drastically, and the
worst, thousands of your people died with much suffering.
After
all, I admire your administration as you remain as calm as ever, you’ve done
impressive works and implemented laws and programs in favor to all of us
despite the criticism, unending bashes, and strikes against you. These good
things you brought us will surely be remembered forever. Some may not be
appreciative about your efforts, and works for the betterment of our country, but
remember that I chose to see the good in you, and I’m very thankful for you
handle us and lead the country with much bravery.
Yours
truly,
Riziel
